Vintage Tang Style Bronze Carved Jar with Arched Dragonhead lid.  A very intricately carved bronze wine vessel which has a long history dating back to ancient times.  They were used not only for practical purposes but also in religious and ceremonial contexts.  The intricate carvings on these vessels held symbolic meanings and were believed to bring good fortune or ward off evil spirits.  Artisans would first design the intricate patterns, which were then carved into molds.  Molten bronze was poured into these molds and once cooled, the vessel would be polished and further detailed.
